Can Persepolis Win The Iran Pro League For The 5th Year In A Row?

Last season was wrapped up in July after the global pandemic caused by Covid-19 put the league on hold for 3 months and therefore Persepolis 4th consecutive title was delayed until then. However, now with the next season back underway, we now analyse if Persepolis have the ability to win a record 5th Pro League in a row come May this year.

They are currently mid-table with the run up to Christmas having played 4, won 2 and drawn 2. Although they are 8th in the league, they do have 2 games in hand on anyone else in the league and if they win these two games in hand then they will find themselves back at the top of the league. Persepolis are unbeaten this season but haven’t been as deadly as they have been in recent years but won’t be worried as it is still very early doors in terms of the league.

Persepolis will be looking at their star players again this season to attempt to fire themselves to the fifth title and certainly looking for a new star player as Ali AliPour left the Iran Pro League to join CS Martimo in Portugal. Although Persepolis are big favourites to win the league title for the 5th time in a row, we do believe that this season might be their hardest out of the last four years due to increased competition and the loss of some star players after such a good season this year; we are excited to see how the season unfolds.
