Germany to travel to Tehran on Oct. 9

AP - World Cup runner-up Germany will play an exhibition match against Iran in Tehran on Oct. 9, the German soccer federation (DFB) said Wednesday.
The match was fixed after a DFB delegation visited the Iranian capital recently.

Part of the proceeds will go to victims of the December earthquake in the southeastern city of Bam.

Germany and Iran have played only once, during the 1998 World Cup in France, when Germany won 2-0 in Montpellier.

A month before traveling to Iran, Germany will play Brazil on Sept. 8 in Berlin, in a repeat of their 2002 World Cup final in Yokohama, Japan.
