Bayern Munich's Karimi to start against Bayer Leverkusen

IRNA - Ali Karimi has been nominated for Bayern Munich's starting lineup for Saturday's Bundesliga game at Bayer Leverkusen, the bi-weekly kicker sports magazine reported Thursday.

The Iranian star player displayed a good performance last week after coming in at half-time in Bayern's 3-0 home victory over arch-rivals Borussia Moenchengladbach in the opening match of the 2005/6 Bundesliga season.

Karimi began as a defensive midfielder in his inaugural game but was later switched to the offensive midfield position.

The Asian Player of the Year played very disciplined on Bayern's defensive line and also managed to launch some dangerous
counterattacks.
